Beginning Yoga Classes Continue at Stonehedge Gardens

Monday evening yoga classes offered at Stonehedge Gardens
Stonehedge Gardens will be the site for a new ongoing Beginner’s Yoga class, starting Monday, May 4 and extending every Monday evening through summer. Each session will be held from 7-8:15 pm and costs $10, payable to the instructor on the night of class. Those interested should meet in the Meditation Room on the second floor the Stonehedge Summerhouse, located at 51 Dairy Road, Tamaqua.
Lynn Robin Miller, a certified yoga instructor nearly 20 years, will lead the classes, with a special focus on traditional Hatha yoga, the approach considered most beneficial for body, mind and spirit. Miller received certification at the Himalayan Institute Teacher's Association, and has been a yoga teacher in various locales since 1990, most recently at the New Jersey Medical School, and as an instructor at the Lehigh Carbon Community Colleges in Carbon and Lehigh Counties.
“The beauty and sacredness of the grounds at Stonehedge provide a perfect backdrop for yoga, and participants should feel free to come early or stay late and stroll the gardens,” she explains.
Weather permitting, class may end with an outdoor "mindfulness meditation" if and when time allows. Although not necessary, participants with his or her own yoga mat should bring it, although the Meditation Room is carpeted.
Participants may attend any Monday session. Each session will cover breathing practices to relax and energize the body, gentle postures and stretches to promote strength and flexibility, progressive relaxation to rest the body, and meditation techniques to calm the mind.
For more information, please contact the instructor at 610-298-3469 or via email at sage@ptd.net.
