Stonehedge Gardens to hold free Movie Night on Wed, August 5

Stonehedge Gardens will host its monthly Coffee and Movie Night on Wednesday, August 5 from 7-9 pm with a special airing of the award-winning Naitonal Geographic documentary “Strange Days on Planet Earth.” This event is free and open to the public, although a donation to support Stonehedge Gardens is encouraged.

The four-part documentary is narrated by Edward Norton and each installment focuses on a different scientific mystery. On August 5, attendees will see disc two which examines the far-reaching repercussions of global climate change. The September 2 Movie Night will feature disc three, the vital role predators play in nature's balance.

Movie Night at Stonehedge was designed by Richard Lane, Executive Director of Focus International and a long-time film and documentary aficionado, who also volunteers as the event’s projectionist and moderator.

“During the Stonehedge Movie Night, we try to select one of the very best documentaries available, with a special focus on environmental, education, and community themes,” he explains. “It’s a great way to spend a Wednesday night while learning something interesting and new,” he adds.

Stonehedge Gardens is a seven-acre, free public garden, gallery and gift shop used for art exhibits and education, as well as a variety of community events focused on nature, art and wellness. Visitors are invited to discover the garden at any time between noon and dusk.
